Requirement review / supplier coordination

Catalytic converter manufacturers: application lists before quoting

Define the requested service scope before asking suppliers for terms. Catalystbay Sourcing coordinates questions; it does not stamp converters or issue Executive Orders.

Define the coordination scope

Requirements review

The buyer supplies vehicle year/make/model, engine family or VIN, installed position, inlet/outlet and length, oxygen-sensor port need, quantity by position, US destination state and the documents they want requested. A family catalog page is not an application listing for the offered part number.

Supplier questions

Ask catalytic converter manufacturers for the exact converter reference, whether the unit is new or remanufactured, included gaskets or heat shields, sample availability, packing unit, and which application or EO documents they attach to that reference. Unverified claims stay pending.

Quote comparison

Separate per-piece price, kit contents, freight, taxes, service fees and any core charge. Weld-in fabrication labor that the buyer will perform is not inside a shell-only quote. Do not treat a shorter number as a saving percentage against an unnamed market.

Order handoff

Record the accepted sample decision, remaining fitment questions, Incoterms and who receives the shipment at the destination ZIP. Batch traceability requested from the supplier is not a blanket approval of later lots.

Use the direct-fit versus universal option list when describing construction, then send the inquiry.
