Buying Checklist

CARB compliant catalytic converter document checks

Make unresolved choices visible before sending the request. A generic catalog or “universal” label is not US approval evidence.

Buying Checklist decision points

  1. Choose the order unit

Specify pieces by bank or axle position and list required gaskets, clamps and heat shields. Ask whether the offer is a weld-in shell or a flanged direct-fit assembly so fabrication work is not hidden inside a unit price.

  2. Set budget context

Optional currency and per-piece or order-total budget inform tradeoffs among documentation support, finish and price. An empty budget is valid; it does not authorize this service to invent a market discount.

  3. State supplier preference

Premium, mid-range, economy or undecided are buyer choices, not verified ratings. Preference does not mean the converter has been tested against a California Executive Order.

  4. Prepare follow-up

For a carb compliant catalytic converter request, ask the supplier for the EO number, converter part number and the vehicle/engine application list that belongs to that pair. This project did not match any specific EO to a catalog option. Direct CARB pages may use JavaScript verification; readable public overviews are not a product match. Keep approval pending until those three identifiers line up with the buyer’s VIN or engine family and destination state.

Sample approval is not batch consistency. If a supplier sends a prototype converter, record the identified part number, vehicle fitment statement, mounting dimensions in in/mm, and the documents attached. Later lots still need their own supplier declaration. Warranty scope belongs to that supplier and part, not to this website.

Send remaining questions through the procurement form after reviewing how manufacturer documents are requested.
